Terms of Service

1.1 Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use Norayn. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

1.2 Account Creation: To use Norayn, you must create an account. You may sign in with email, Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with Google. You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information during the registration process. You must also maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or suspected security breach.

1.3 Couple Pairing: Norayn allows you to link your account with a partner. When paired, shared features (such as quizzes, games, widgets, and answers) may be visible to your partner. You are responsible for choosing whom you pair with and what you share. Either partner may unpair at any time through the app.

2.1 User Content: Norayn allows you to create, upload, and share content such as quiz answers, photos, drawings, journal entries, and widget data. Content you submit in shared couple features is visible to your paired partner while you remain linked. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in the content you submit.

By creating or storing content on Norayn, you grant us permission to host, store, and display that content solely to provide and operate the app — including showing it to your paired partner where the feature is designed for that. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. We do not give your content to third parties for their own use.

2.2 Prohibited Content: You agree not to upload, post, or share any content that violates applicable laws or regulations, infringes upon the rights of others, or contains offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate material. Norayn reserves the right to remove or disable any content that violates these Terms.

2.3 Intellectual Property: Norayn and its associated trademarks, logos, and materials are protected by intellectual property laws. You agree not to use any Norayn intellectual property without our prior written consent.

2.4 Third-Party Services: Some features of Norayn use third-party services (such as Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, payment providers, and support tools). Use of those features is also subject to the terms and policies of the relevant third-party providers.

2.5 Subscriptions and Payments: Norayn offers premium features by subscription. Subscriptions are billed through Apple or Google and are subject to their billing terms. Norayn does not process or store your full payment card information for purchases processed by Apple or Google.

When a paying user is paired, their partner may receive shared premium access while paired, as implemented in the app. If you unpair, shared premium access for the non-paying partner ends; the subscriber retains their subscription.

Payments are non-refundable except as required by law or as allowed by Apple or Google. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings. Price changes, if any, will be announced in advance.

2.6 License to Use the Services: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Norayn grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our services for your personal, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted to you.

2.7 Feedback: If you provide ideas, feedback, or suggestions about Norayn, you agree we may use them without restriction or compensation.

3.1 Data Collection and Use: We process personal data only as described in our Privacy Policy — to run Norayn for you and your partner. We do not sell your information or use your couple content for advertising. By using Norayn, you consent to this limited processing as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

3.2 GDPR Compliance: Norayn complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection laws. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and protection of your personal data.

3.3 No Professional Advice: Norayn provides relationship prompts, quizzes, games, and faith-aligned conversation starters for informational and reflective purposes only. Norayn does not provide medical, psychological, legal, financial, or religious (fiqh) advice. If you require authoritative religious guidance, consult qualified scholars. If you are experiencing distress or a mental health crisis, please seek professional help immediately.

When using Norayn, you agree not to:

4.1 Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

4.2 Use Norayn to send spam, unsolicited messages, or engage in any form of unauthorized advertising or marketing.

4.3 Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Norayn, user accounts, or computer systems.

4.4 Impersonate another person or entity or falsely represent your affiliation with a person or entity.

4.5 Engage in any activity that disrupts or interferes with the proper functioning of Norayn.

4.6 Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Norayn.

4.7 Use automated means (such as bots or scrapers) to access Norayn without our written permission.

4.8 Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls, paywalls, or premium restrictions.

5.1 Termination by Us: We may suspend or terminate your access to Norayn at any time for any reason, including but not limited to violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use Norayn will immediately cease, and you must cease all use of the platform.

5.2 Termination by You: You may stop using Norayn at any time and delete your account through the app settings (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Upon account deletion, your data will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5.3 Effect of Termination: Upon termination (by you or us), you will lose access to your account and any content stored in it. When you delete your account, we will erase your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Once your data has been erased, we cannot provide copies. Active subscriptions will continue until the end of the current billing period unless cancelled by you. Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution.

6.1 To the extent permitted by applicable law, Norayn and its affiliates, directors, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of Norayn, including but not limited to loss of data, interruption of service, or any third-party conduct.

6.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including the Consumer Rights Act 2015).

6.3 We strive to provide thoughtful relationship and faith-aligned conversation content. Nevertheless, we do not guarantee the accuracy or suitability of such content for your personal circumstances, and it is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only.

6.4 Disclaimer of Warranties: The services are provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation.

6.5 Cap on Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Norayn's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the services will not exceed the greater of £100 or the amount you paid to Norayn for the services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where that applies, these limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted.

6.6 Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Norayn and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the services, (b) your content, or (c) your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on our website and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated to you (for example by email or in-app notice). Your continued use of Norayn after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using our services and may delete your account.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of United Kingdom.

If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Norayn regarding our services. If you access Norayn through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you may also be subject to their respective terms and conditions.
